Books were not Commonplace
I cannot say that I was an avid reader. Books were a luxury many could not afford. My love for KidLit was sparked when I had my own children in Canada. We spent many happy hours enjoying the picture books we read. They were engaging and endearing; some provoked strong emotions, while others made us laugh. I loved the stories and the illustrations, and though writing for that market was not something I seriously considered, inevitably seeds were sown. And the seeds did what seeds do – they grew.

Consuming Passion
Now that I have two young grandchildren, I’m rediscovering my love for picture books. I decided to learn the craft of writing for children and as my knowledge grew, so did my excitement and enthusiasm. What started as a pastime, became a consuming passion!

Pretty soon, I had created stories that I wanted children everywhere to enjoy. When my manuscript MESSAGE IN THE MOONCAKE was shortlisted in the CANSCAIP Writing for Children Competition 2022, I knew I was headed in the right direction! And when several editors showed interest in this same manuscript, well.... now I had crossed the point of no return.
That set me on a goal to publish my creations.

A little silliness makes life fun
Life is a Journey
I may have embarked on my author journey a little late in life. But life itself is a journey and how you traverse it will determine your fulfillment and happiness.

As I continue on my journey, I’m thankful for the support of not only friends and family but also the writing community at large. A more giving and generous community you will not find - thank you all!
And Thank You for stopping by.
